How Many Grams in a Cup of Honey?
One cup of honey weighs 340 grams — nearly three times a cup of flour's weight, and about 1.4 times as heavy as a cup of water. Honey barely varies, so the number is dependable; the challenge is measuring it without leaving half behind. Below are honey's conversion tables, a converter, and the clean way to measure it.

How to measure honey properly
Weigh it straight into the bowl. Honey is the strongest argument for a scale in this entire index: put the mixing bowl on the scale, pour until it reads 340 grams, and nothing is left coating a measuring cup. You also skip the washing-up.
If you must use a cup, oil it first. Measure your recipe's oil in the cup before the honey, or wipe the cup with a film of neutral oil or butter. The honey then slides out almost completely instead of leaving 20 or 30 grams behind as an invisible error.
Warm crystallised honey back to liquid. Set honey turns grainy and impossible to measure evenly. Stand the jar in warm water for ten minutes and it pours — and weighs — like fresh honey again. A tablespoon of liquid honey is 21 grams, so spoon errors add up quickly in small recipes.
Frequently asked questions
How many grams are in a cup of honey?
340 grams. Honey is a dense syrup — about 1.4 times as heavy as water — so a cup of it outweighs a cup of almost everything else in the kitchen: flour is 120 grams, sugar 198 grams, and even maple syrup is lighter at 315 grams.
How many grams are in a tablespoon of honey?
21 grams (21.3, rounded). A teaspoon is about 7.1 grams. Because honey is so dense, a heaped versus level tablespoon is a bigger error than with most ingredients — level the spoon, or better, weigh the amount directly into the bowl.
How many cups is 100 grams of honey?
About 0.29 cups — just under a third of a cup. The maths is 100 ÷ 340 ≈ 0.29. Small amounts of honey are where cups fail worst; 100 grams is roughly 4¾ tablespoons, and weighing it is simpler than either measure.
