How Many Grams in a Cup of Almond Butter?
One cup of almond butter weighs 258 grams when spooned into the cup, pressed down to clear any air pockets and levelled off and this page converts almond butter between cups, grams, tablespoons, teaspoons, millilitres and ounces, with full tables, worked examples and a free converter.

One cup of almond butter weighs 258 grams — 12 grams less than peanut butter, because almonds grind a little less densely than peanuts. It separates, clings and mounds exactly like peanut butter, so the same rules apply. Below are the full conversion tables, a converter for any amount, and how to measure it without losing a quarter of it.

How to measure almond butter properly
Stir new jars completely. Almond butter separates in storage, and the oil layer on an unstirred jar is deeper than peanut butter's. Stir until the bottom of the jar is as loose as the top — storing the jar upside down in the fridge keeps it that way — then measure.
Weigh it in the bowl, always. Almond butter is expensive and adhesive: a scraped cup measure can hold back 20 grams, which is real money and a real recipe error. Spoon it into the mixing bowl on the scale to the gram figure and everything you paid for is in the bake.
Stirred and 'no-stir' jars differ slightly. No-stir almond butters use a little palm oil to stay emulsified and sit at the same 258 grams a cup for practical purposes. Natural, runny almond butter at fridge temperature measures the same by weight — weight is the leveller.
Frequently asked questions
How many grams are in a cup of almond butter?
258 grams, for stirred almond butter, smooth or crunchy. It is slightly lighter than peanut butter's 270 grams per cup — the two are otherwise measured identically, and both are best weighed.
How many grams are in a tablespoon of almond butter?
About 16 grams (16.1). Level it — almond butter mounds and holds peaks like peanut butter, and a heaped spoon can weigh 24 grams, half as much again as the level measure recipes intend.
How many grams are in half a cup of almond butter?
129 grams — exactly half of the 258-gram cup. Half a cup is the standard amount in energy balls and bars, and weighed into the bowl it takes seconds.
